Police are investigating a homicide on Peoria's South Side after early Tuesday shooting

Peoria police are investigating the shooting death of a 31-year-old man on the city's South Side early Tuesday.

Officers responded to two back-to-back ShotSpotter alerts in the 2500 block of West Garden, with a total of 20 rounds fired.

A man with multiple gunshot wounds was found lying in the road. The man died from his injuries.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified the victim as Quinterius Evans of Peoria. He died instantly from his wounds.
