The Illinois State Police are investigating the death of a detainee at the Peoria County Jail.
Sheriff Chris Watkins says the 31-year-old man was found unresponsive in a cell by himself shortly before 1 a.m Tuesday. Several rounds of narcan and epinephrine were administered to no effect.
The man was arrested Monday night after an incident in downtown Peoria.
The sheriff says there are no initial signs of foul play.
