A 16-year-old Peoria boy injured in a shooting this weekend is expected to make a full recovery.

According to Peoria Police Department spokesperson Semone Roth, officers responded to the 3600 block of Marengo Drive around 8:30 p.m. Friday following a report of a juvenile gunshot victim. They found a 16-year-old male with non-life threatening injuries.

The boy was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

As of Monday morning, Roth says police are still investigating the shooting.
