Out and About in Greater Peoria: Paint night, survival workshop and the 'I Believe Tour'

Here are 3 things to do for the weekend of Feb. 23 through Feb. 25, 2024, curated by WCBU's Meagan Ruger-Smith. You can find more coverage on our Out & About - Arts & Music page or by subscribing to WCBU's Weekend Fanfare email newsletter, which goes out every Friday.

Adults only paint night: Celebrate Black History Month tonight with the Peoria Guild of Black Artists. From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., listen to some music with DJ Spiller while enjoying an After Hours Adult Paint Night. Art supplies and appetizers are provided. The event is free, but registration is required!

Test your survivalist skills: Would you thrive in the Illinois winter if you were to get lost or stranded? Join the Peoria Park District naturalists as they put your skills to the test, and learn some new skills along the way like shelter-building, finding fresh water, and more! The event runs Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at Forest Park.

I Believe Tour comes to Peoria: Join Phil Wickham Saturday night for the I Believe Tour! Alongside special guests Pat Barrett and Benjamin William Hastings, Wickham will be making stops all across the country for nights featuring many of his most popular worship songs and brand new songs off his new album I Believe. The show begins at 7 p.m. at the Peoria Civic Center.

Meagan Ruger-Smith is a sophomore sports communication major at Bradley University, with minors in ethics and journalism. Meagan joined WCBU in 2023.
