Carle Health Greater Peoria officially relocated its inpatient rehabilitation center from Methodist Hospital to Proctor Hospital on Thursday. The new Comprehensive Physical Rehabilitation Center is now open on Proctor's fourth floor.

Carle Health is now performing all general surgeries in the Peoria area out of Methodist hospital.

The change went into effect last Friday. A Carle spokesman says the decision was made based on specialist availability and the "best use of resources."

Carle Health also operates Proctor and Pekin hospitals after taking over management of all three facilities from UnityPoint earlier this year.
