Need a turkey for the Thanksgiving dinner table? Product of the Project is hosting a turkey drive for families in need this holiday.

The Peoria nonprofit is giving away 500 turkeys from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the MECA Center of Peoria, 817 W. Armstrong Ave.

Antwaun Banks is founder of Product of the Project.

"You sign up and it's one per family. Other than that, we just want to give it away. Don't want to make it real complicated. Just want to try to fulfill the need and bring the love into the community this holiday season," he said.

Product of the Projects partnered with the Peoria Area Food Bank and Midwest Food bank for the turkey giveaway.

In addition to providing turkeys to families, the drive also includes hygiene bags and other fixings for a holiday meal.

Banks hopes the items will make the drive a "one-stop shop" for families in need.

Five hundred turkeys are available. To register for a turkey, or to volunteer with Product of the Project, visit https://www.productoftheproject.org.
