A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after a shooting late Tuesday night in South Peoria.
Peoria Police spokesperson Semone Roth said officers responded to three back-to-back ShotSpotter alerts around 11:30 p.m. The first was 12 rounds fired in the 2000 block of West Marquette, followed by four shots in the 2000 block of West Antoinette, and another, single shot fired again in the 2000 block of West Marquette.
Police found the victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound in the 2000 block of West Marquette. No arrests have been made.
It's the latest incident in a recent outbreak of violence in South Peoria. On Sunday, 15-year-old Emarion Carpenter was killed and another youth injured in a spate of shootings. On Monday afternoon, an adult man suffered serious wounds after 13 rounds were fired on West Garden.
