A 41-year-old man was arrested Friday for the murder of his father.
Mason County sheriff's deputies found 69-year-old Paul D. Harris dead when they went to his Goofy Ridge home Thursday morning for a well-being check.
The state police were called in after deputies deemed the death suspicious. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday in Bloomington.
The Illinois State Police and Mason County Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Paul A. Harris for first-degree murder. He's currently in the Mason County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
The state police confirmed Paul A. Harris is Paul D. Harris' son.
