The Peoria County Sheriff's Office says a suspect has been arrested in connection with a homicide last month in West Peoria.

Detectives arrested 22-year-old Lamentae Turner Wednesday afternoon at a Decatur residence, with assistance from the Decatur Police, U.S. Marshals, and Illinois Department of Corrections agents.

Turner was booked into Peoria County jail for first-degree murder and a parole violation.

Stashaun Wheeler, 35, of Decatur, died after being shot multiple times in the parking lot of the Farmington Road Casey's gas station on Jan. 22.

Peoria County detectives continue to investigate the incident, with other suspects believed to be involved.
