A 38-year-old woman is dead after a rollover traffic collision Wednesday in northwest Peoria.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood on Thursday said Martisha Bell of Peoria suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after 5 p.m. at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center.

According to Peoria police, officers responded to the intersection of Orange Prairie and American Prairie after the crash between two SUVs shortly before 4:30 p.m.

Bell was ejected from her vehicle and found in critical condition. She was not breathing and did not have a pulse when she was taken to the hospital, and resuscitative efforts were not successful.

Harwood says Bell was not wearing a seatbelt and likely died instantly. Toxicology tests are pending.

The driver of the other SUV was also taken to a hospital, but their injuries are not considered life-threatening. The crash remains under investigation by the Peoria Police Traffic Unit.
