Teenager charged as adult with reckless homicide, aggravated DUI in February Bartonville crash

A gavel rests on a judge's bench in a blurry courtroom. The text "WCBU Courts" sits on top of that photo.

Clayton Bell, 17 is being charged as an adult with aggravated DUI and reckless homicide in connection with the February death of a 15-year-old Bartonville girl.

Officers responded just after midnight on Feb. 27 to the 6700 block of Pfeiffer Road after a car rolled several times. Four people were in the car at the time of the accident.

Mia Dusek, 15, was killed in the crash.

Bell was 16 at the time. He was reportedly driving the vehicle around 80 miles per hour in a 35-mph zone when the crash happened. He also had a blood alcohol content of .14, prosecutors said. The legal limit is .08.

Bell was charged Wednesday in Peoria County Circuit Court. He's currently free on a $10,000 personal recognizance bond.
