The Spirit of Peoria has officially set off from Peoria for the last time.
Boat owner Alex Grieves posted on Facebook that the Spirit left dock in Peoria for the last time at 4 a.m. Friday.
The boat is headed to La Crosse, Wisconsin for renovations. That's where the Julia Belle Swain is also currently based.
It hasn't been announced where the Spirit of Peoria will ultimately end up. The city of Peoria opted not to purchase the boat for a million dollars without a seaworthiness survey or appraisal.
Peoria Mayor Rita Ali has said she's interested in attracting another riverboat.
