The vast majority of UnityPoint Health's workers — 97% — are complying with the health care system's COVID-19 vaccination policy on its Nov. 1 deadline.
Compliance is defined as either completing vaccinations, or qualifying for an approved exemption.
In August, UnityPoint announced it would require all of its more than 33,000 employees across three states to comply with the mandate, regardless of whether or not they work directly with patients.
A vaccination policy compliance rate wasn't immediately available for the Central Illinois system, specifically. As of OSF HealthCare's deadline at the end of September, 90% of employees system-wide were fully vaccinated.
The health care system said non-compliant employees are subject to voluntary resignations or termination.
