A 55-year-old man died Monday following an early morning single-vehicle crash at a rural Peoria County intersection southeast of Elmwood.

Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood identified the victim as Kenneth J. Musgrave of Elmwood. Harwood said there was no evidence of trauma and Musgrave likely suffered a medical event.

Sheriff Brian Asbell said Musgrave was driving a truck east on Graham Chapel Road shortly before 6 a.m., when he went through the T-intersection at Dogtown Lane and struck a power pole guide wire. The impact caused the pole to fall onto Musgrave's truck.

Harwood said Musgrave was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:30 a.m. Toxicology tests are pending and the crash remains under investigation.
