A three-member panel last month ordered the company to, among other things, stop writing up, sending home early, or more closely scrutinizing the work of employees because they support organizing. The store must also post a notice informing employees of their right to form a union.

In a 14-2 decision, the store becomes the second in the area to successfully unionize and the 24th in Illinois.

Employees voted 9 to 2 at the Peoria Labor Temple Tuesday to form a union under the umbrella of Workers United, an affiliate of the Service Employees International Union.

Ballots for union election voting will be mailed to all employees on April 5, and counted on April 26.
