The new Freedom and Remembrance Memorial Park on Peoria's Southwest Adams Street commemorates memory of a forgotten cemetery.

The three markers for the Freedom & Remembrance Memorial will be on display at the Peoria Riverfront Museum until a dedication and installation next spring at the corner of Griswold and Adams streets, near the site of the former Moffatt Cemetery. The cemetery was closed in 1905, and poorly maintained up until it was razed by the city of Peoria in the 1950s.
