A Bloomington woman died Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 74, according to the Woodford County coroner.

Coroner Tim Ruestman said in a news release Victoria Nguyen, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash happened about two miles east of Carlock at about 8:07 a.m.

Ruestman said a car Nguyen was driving a westbound collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by a 21-year-old woman from Moberly, Missouri.

State Police have not provided any additional details about the crash or whether anyone else was injured.

Westbound I-74 was closed for hours for a police investigation. Police reopened the interstate at about 1:10 p.m.

Ruestman noted Nguyen worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Peoria. Nguyen is listed as a biological science lab technician on the USDA website.

Ruestman said the crash remains under investigation by Illinois State Police, the Woodford County Coroner’s Office.
