State Week: The fight over a school mask mandate continues

The debate over having masks in schools has resembled a ping-pong match. After a state panel this week refused to extend the governor's order while awaiting a court decision, the appellate judges determined that action made the case moot. A lower judge's ruling that temporarily lifted the mandate in certain districts remains in effect. Many other schools are now going "mask optional." Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Attorney General Kwame Raoul will now take their case to the Illinois Supreme Court.

We'll attempt to sort out the confusion.

Host Sean Crawford is joined by Professor Emeritus Charlie Wheeler, Chicago Tonight Correspondent Amanda Vinicky and Lee Enterprises' Illinois Government and Politics Reporter Brenden Moore. Hannah Meisel has the week off.
