Republican Rauner, Democrat Pritzker Step Up on Mansion Fix

Republican Gov. Bruce Rauner and first lady Diana Rauner have released a partial list of donors to a $15 million renovation of the Illinois Governor's Mansion.

Rauner's Democratic opponent in the fall election is one of the bigger contributors. The foundation of J.B. Pritzker and his wife M.K. Pritzker were among those donating $250,000 to $499,999.

The renovated 1855 home is set to reopen to the public July 14. Diana Rauner spearheaded the two-year campaign and the Rauners contributed at least $1 million.

Others in the seven-figure category include Abbott, Archer Daniels Midland Co., Caterpillar, CME Group, Exelon, Illinois Tool Works and Northern Trust.

The new version of the nation's oldest continuously occupied governor's home will feature visitors' exhibits.
