32 Illinois Counties Get Grant Money for Emergency Centers

Emergency management agencies in 32 counties will be getting thousands of dollars each to beef up their emergency operations centers.

In a news release, the Illinois Emergency Management Agency says the total of $500,000 in grant money it is awarding will be spent on personal computers, printers, radio base stations, furniture and other items for the emergency centers.

The agency says that the money went to those counties that demonstrated the greatest need for basic technology and other equipment.

The grants ranged from approximately $5,500 to $25,000.
