Rauner Veto Would Decrease Funding for Rauner College Prep

Facebook

The debate over school funding in Illinois has focused on Chicago Public Schools, which Governor Bruce Rauner alleges would get a "bailout" under a plan sponsored by Democrats. He vetoed much of that proposal. Legislative leaders are now trying to work out a compromise.

Ironically, Rauner’s veto would decrease money for a high school with his name on it. Rauner College Prep, founded more than a decade ago, is part of the Noble Network of Charter Schools. But Noble communications director Cody Rogers says that, like most charters in Chicago, Noble relies on CPS for funding.

Rauner and his wife Diana have donated more than $3 million dollars to the Noble Network.
