Chicago musician Chance the Rapper met with Governor Bruce Rauner about funding for the city’s public schools. After the meeting, Chance says he was flustered and frustrated. He says the governor gave him vague answers about how to fix the CPS budget gap.
“I’m not a politician. I’m not here...I’m here because I’m a dad...I’m an after-school teacher. You know I’m sayin’, like, I care about the kids.”Chance says the governor needs to leave kids off the table during negotiations to end the state’s budget impasse. Afterward, Rauner told reporters the two men had a good exchange of views.
