Customer engagement company Afni hiring 150 in Bloomington

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - A company in central Illinois has set aside two days next week for interviewing applicants for web chat and call center jobs.
Afni hopes to hire 150 people during 2017. Many will be hired at events on Jan. 4 and Jan. 7 at the company's facility in Bloomington.

Web chats are a way for customers to get quick answers on company websites without calling a customer service agent. Web chat agents need good writing skills and the ability to interact with two to three customers at the same time.

Afni says on its website that the new web chat employees will represent "a major U.S. brand" by assisting their small business customers with questions related to service plans, billing and account changes.
