UN Secretary General to Talk at Southern Illinois University

wikipedia

United National Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will deliver his last public lecture while in office at Southern Illinois University next week.  SIU officials say the secretary general will speak Wednesday at the Carbondale campus.

His talk will include the topic "What I Have Learned and Would Like to Pass On." SIU officials say they suggested the topic after learning the speech would be his final public appearance before leaving office at the end of the month.

SIU Interim Chancellor Brad Colwell says the school is honored that Ban accepted its invitation.  SIU's chancellor's office, the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute and the United Nations Association-USA Southern Illinois Chapter are sponsoring the secretary general's appearance.
