Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner says president-elect Donald Trump made a great pick for Secretary of Education. Trump nominated billionaire business woman and school choice advocate Betsy DeVos last month. DeVos and Rauner are both strong supporters for charter schools and vouchers.
"I do know Betsy DeVos, I have great respect for her and I think she’s very talented, very passionate education advocate. And I’m personally a believer in school choice."
The Chicago Teacher’s Union says DeVos could cause trouble for the city’s public schools. DeVos’ nomination still has to be approved by Congress.
