Theft of 50 Guns From Springfield Store Gang-Related

Facebook/Letz Hunt and Sport

Springfield police say the theft of more than 50 guns from a firearms dealer last week was gang-related. Two adults and two juveniles were arrested for the Oct. 9 break-in at Letz Hunt and Sport.  19-year-old Jimmie Burge of Springfield is charged with possession of a stolen firearm, no valid firearms card, theft, and criminal damage to property. An 18-year-old Chatham man could also face burglary and theft charges.

Police say Burge and the other adult kicked in the door to the business about 10 p.m. Oct. 9.  Police also arrested two juveniles, and say all four are tied to a local gang.
