jeep.com

A new manufacturing plant in northern Illinois will make interior cockpit components for the Jeep Cherokee.  State Rep. Joe Sosnowski, a Rockford Republican, announced that Yanfeng Automotive Interiors will open a plant in Belvidere next year.

It's expected to create 400 new jobs and bring $28 million in capital investment. Openings will be posted on Yanfeng Automotive's website.  Fiat Chrysler announced in July it would build the Jeep Cherokee at its assembly plant in Belvidere starting next year.

Shanghai-based Yanfeng Automotive Interiors is a leading supplier of instrument panels and cockpit systems, door panels, floor consoles and overhead consoles. It has more than 100 manufacturing and technical centers in 17 countries and employs more than 29,000 people around the world.
