History of Beer in Chicago Exhibit to Open

www.chipublib.org

The Chicago Public Library is presenting a traveling exhibit called "Beer Chicago: The Refreshing History."

The Elmhurst History Museum created the exhibit. It looks at Chicago's history of making beer, drinking beer, advertising beer and meeting for a beer from the first brewery in 1833 until today's craft beer industry.
The exhibit at the Harold Washington Library Center in downtown Chicago will run until Jan. 8.

Exhibit highlights include an interactive alcohol-free bar where a bartender will share what he knows about Chicago's beer history. There will also be profiles about breweries in the city and artifacts like vintage cans and signs.
