Observers do nothing to help dying man in Chicago street

Surveillance video shows more than a dozen people doing nothing to help a Chicago bartender as he is attacked, left unconscious on the street and accidentally run over by a taxi.  Marques Gaines later died at a hospital.

The family of 32-year-old Gaines has filed a wrongful death and negligence lawsuit against several businesses and taxi companies in his Feb. 7 death.

The video the family released Wednesday shows a man outside a convenience store punching Gaines, who falls to the ground. The video shows people ignoring Gaines and walking by, then a taxi runs over his body.

Chicago police say detectives are investigating and that the cab driver was not cited at the scene.  Relatives say they hope eyewitnesses will help identify the attacker.
