Small crowd at state representative debate

The most expensive campaign for state representative in Illinois history did not result in a large crowd at a debate last night.   Millions have been spent on one state legislative race this primary.

But only a couple dozen people attended the debate at a South Loop church.  Democratic incumbent Ken Dunkin faces Juliana Stratton.  She criticized Dunkin for skipping some big votes.

STRATTON: "He sold out the families of this district."

DUNKIN: "I was able to come off the party plantation. And there is a plantation down there whether we like it or not."

Juliana Stratton

Dunkin says Stratton is a pawn of Democratic House Speaker Michael Madigan.  And Madigan wants to get rid of Dunkin for siding with Republican Governor Bruce Rauner on some big issues.
