Nine patients who had lung transplants at Loyola University Health System are part of a 20-member team joining Chicago's "Hustle up the Hancock"
Called "Loyola's Lung Angels," the team, which also includes family members and medical professionals, will join about 4,000 participants in the Respiratory Health Association's annual fundraiser on Sunday.
The climb is 94 stories. The association expects to raise $1.1 million to promote healthy lungs and prevent lung disease.
For cystic fibrosis patient Sean Sullivan, getting dressed felt like running wind sprints before a double-lung transplant. The 41-year-old Olympia Fields man wants to do the climb to honor his lung donor.
Chris Pry also has cystic fibrosis. This is his second climb and he hopes to break one hour after a 1:15 effort last year.
