CHICAGO (AP) - University of Illinois trustees have adopted a resolution urging state lawmakers to end an impasse and pass a budget. The resolution approved Thursday in a unanimous vote will be delivered to Gov. Bruce Rauner and legislative leaders. Their stalemate has meant Illinois colleges have gone without state funding since July 1. The trustees say the funding gap threatens to do long-term damage to a university system that contributes nearly $14 billion annually to the state's economy. Thursday's vote also approved a request by University of Illinois President Tim Killeen to eliminate a bonus for him worth $225,000 if stays in the job for five years. Killeen told a state House committee Tuesday that the university is going through cash reserves at a rate of $75 million per month.
