Illinois medical marijuana sales start Monday

Illinois officials say patients will be able to buy medical marijuana legally for the first time Monday.  The state's medical cannabis program director says eight dispensaries are authorized to start selling Monday.

Illinois started mailing 3,300 patients their official program ID cards last week. Patients are required to tell the state which dispensary they'll use before they are allowed to make purchases.

The eight licensed dispensaries are located in Marion, Mundelein, Canton, Quincy, Addison, North Aurora, Schaumburg and Ottawa.
