University of Illinois President Tim Killeen says he's "testing the waters" with talk of increasing enrollment across the school's three campuses to 100,000.
Enrollment at campuses in Champaign-Urbana, Chicago and Springfield will be about 79,000 when the new academic year starts next week.
Killeen says the idea will be discussed in upcoming town hall meetings and with chancellors.
Urbana campus faculty senate member Joyce Tolliver says the school will have to think about hiring more faculty and adding classroom space.
