One month ago today, residents of Coal City, IL started cleaning up after powerful storms. The village is about an hour south of Chicago. It was hit by tornadoes and severe weather. Glenn Root says the tarps on his roof aren’t enough to keep the damage at bay.

"You know a little hole coming through the top of the ceiling roof is just expanding and expanding every time it rains. And we got so much rain the last three weeks that it’s just messing up my kitchen walls more."

No one was killed but several people were taken to area hospitals after the storm. A village official says about 800 structures in Coal City were damaged.
