PITTSFIELD, Ill. (AP) - Brian Curless has a way with words. The Pittsfield resident won the reserve title at the World Livestock Auctioneer Championship. He finished second finish among 31 contestants in Clifton, Texas. The win netted Cureless $2,000, a pocket knife and a belt buckle. The competitors answered three questions in the interview portion of the contest and followed that by selling eight drafts of cattle in a live auction. The top 10 who were selected by the judges returned to sell 10 drafts each before the winners were selected. Brandon Neely of Southside, Alabama won the title. Curless raises cattle and he operates his own auction business.
