Longtime state Sen. David Luechtefeld from southern Illinois says this will be his last term in office. The OkawvilleRepublican says he won't seek re-election after he finishes serving his current term. Luechtefeld was allowed to run in 2012 in the 58th District after new legislative boundaries put his home outside of the district. If Luechtefeld wanted to run in 2016 he would have to move, which he says he won't do. Instead the 74-year-old says this will be his last term in office. The term ends in January 2017. Luechtefeld was first elected in 1994 and previously was a teacher and coach. He is currently the assistant Republican leader in the Illinois Senate.
