IU-Edwardsville says worker killed repaving campus road

A construction worker killed while repaving a road on the campus of Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville has been identified as a 47-year-old O'Fallon man.

Roger Kolweier died of blunt chest and abdominal trauma.   Heavy machinery used to compact gravel rolled down an embankment and struck Kolweier, throwing him into a ditch.

His death will be investigated by campus police and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
