Army infantryman from Illinois AWOL in Colorado

Military officials say a northern Illinois man has gone missing from a Colorado Army post.

20-year-old Danny Domres of Oswego was declared AWOL from Fort Carson on May 11.  Domres was an infantryman who had served in the Army for three years. The Army is "concerned about his whereabouts and status."

Domres' father, Tom Domres, says he just wants his son found. He says he hadn't heard from his son during the six weeks before he disappeared.

Tom Domres says Danny Domres had troubles after he returned from a nine-month tour of Afghanistan. The father says Domres' military friends are working together to try to find the soldier.
