Gov. Bruce Rauner will endorse a measure paving the way for Chicago to use park land for Barack Obama's presidential library and film producer George Lucas' museum.
Legislators fast-tracked the measure, changing state law to let Chicago build museums on park or "formerly submerged" land.
A parks group has sued to stop lakefront construction of Lucas' museum, saying it needs state approval. They also objected to the city using park land for Obama's library.
Spokesman Mike Schrimpf says Rauner will sign the bill Friday.
