Escaped inmate's SUV discovered in Kankakee

Investigators have found the SUV used by a convicted murderer to flee from a jail in eastern Illinois.  But so far there is no sign of 23-year-old Kamron T. Taylor, who escaped from the Jerome Combs Detention Center in Kankakee at about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Kankakee County Sheriff Timothy Bukowski says the SUV that Taylor stole from a correctional officer was found abandoned at about 8:30 a.m. in a Kankakee residential neighborhood.

Dogs were called in to help in the search, but Bukowski says it's not clear whether Taylor continued from there on foot or whether someone picked him up in another vehicle.

The U.S. Marshals Service's Fugitive Task Force and local law enforcement agencies are participating in the manhunt.  Bukowski says Taylor should be considered armed and dangerous.
