Pot seized, man arrested after Nebraska traffic stop

A 47-year-old Bartonville man has been arrested after more than 45 pounds of marijuana was found in a pickup he was driving.

James Slater Jr. was stopped for speeding on a Hamilton County Nebraska road Thursday afternoon.

The Nebraska State Patrol says a patrol dog alerted a trooper to the odor of drugs, and the pot was found inside two suitcases in the truck bed.

Slater was arrested on suspicion of possession for sale, and remains in custody at the Hamilton County jail.
