Schock plans to pay for new lavish office decor

AP / File

Congressman Aaron Schock says he will pay for the redesign of his office. The Peoria Republican's new digs received a lot of attention after a Washington Post article said it was modeled after the TV show "Downton Abbey".

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington requested a congressional review panel to examine whether Schock broke House rules by accepting professional interior design work for free. But Schock told an ABC reporter Wednesday he intends to pay interior designer, Annie Brahler for her work.

The Washington Post reported this week Brahler donated her services as she decorated Schock's Washington office with a red carpet and walls, accented with antique-looking frames and sconces reminiscent of the popular PBS show.
