Illinois hunters take less deer during 2014-15 seasons

Illinois hunters harvested about 2 percent fewer deer this season compared to last season.
The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has released preliminary totals from all of the state's 2014-2015 deer hunting season. The department says that overall hunters took 145,804 deer for all seasons in 2014-2015. That number was 148,614 during the 2013-2014 seasons.
Here are totals from the 2014-2015 seasons:
Archery: 56,083 deer
Youth: 2,768 deer
Traditional Firearm: 76,729
Muzzleloader: 3,478
Late-Winter and Special CWD: 6,746
