Uncertainty following Rauner appointment changes

There’s some uncertainty about who will be leading several state groups under Governor Bruce Rauner. He’s undone the appointments of more than a hundred people from the previous governor.
The governor gets to appoint people to lead state agencies - like those that control the highways. And he can appoint people to state boards - like those that control whether or not Chicago gets a casino.

Hundreds of people could be out of those jobs. Even though Rauner could end up putting them right back where they were.

"We want to rescind everything we possibly can and take a fresh hard look where we can take time."

Some of those appointments Rauner canceled out include Jorge Ramirez. He’s a major union leader who served on two boards related to business development and regulations.

Rauner has been highly critical of labor leaders’ relationships with elected officials, saying unions’ donations to the politicians with whom they bargain is unethical.
