Quinn campaign gets presidential boost

President Barack Obama is expected to arrive in Chicago Wednesday evening and will be mixing business with politics while in the area.

Tomorrow morning, he’ll reportedly host a private fundraiser for Governor Pat Quinn in Chicago’s Gold Coast neighborhood. Quinn’s running neck-and-neck with wealthy Republican venture capitalist Bruce Rauner.  Rauner has given his campaign more than 12 million dollars of his own money.

After the fundraiser, Obama is scheduled to speak about the US economy at Northwestern University in Evanston.

Quinn’s campaign is also expected to get a boost from First Lady Michelle Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton next week.

Rauner has hosted fundraisers with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie several times.
