Illinois gets brand name for health care reform

Illinois officials Wednesday unveiled the brand name for a new insurance marketplace that’s part of President Barack Obama’s healthcare plan:

Polls show that many Americans without health insurance still don’t know that the Affordable Care Act requires them to get it.

And many of the uninsured don’t know that low-income people can get federal subsidies.

Governor Pat Quinn’s administration is trying to bring folks up to speed through a multimillion-dollar advertising campaign.

And here’s he name of a new online healthcare marketplace.

GORMAN: It is “Get Covered Illinois.”

Brian Gorman is heading the outreach.

GORMAN: And “Get Covered Illinois” is where consumers will be able to shop and compare health-coverage plans side-by-side and, ultimately, to get financial support.

Illinois officials expect 300,000 people to sign up for coverage through the marketplace.

Enrollment begins next Tuesday.

The deadline is March 31.
