Illinois Governor Pat Quinn is cashing in on his bet with the Massachusetts’ governor following the Chicago Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup win over the Boston Bruins. The two governors wagered time spent volunteering at a food bank in the winning team’s home town. They gathered at the Greater Chicago Food Depository Tuesday. Governor Quinn says it raises awareness about hunger:“I think anybody would like lobster or clam chowder which comes from Massachusetts, but I think it’s an educational opportunity for us to kind of teach everybody how important food banks are to every-day people, especially here in the summertime when kids don’t have their school lunch programs.”Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick - who grew up in Chicago - jokingly refused to put on a Blackhawks jersey while working.
