On this week’s Out and About, artist Lisa Nelson Raabe joins host Dr. Mae Gilliland Wright to talk about her exhibit “The Plot Thickens.”
Raabe uses eco dyeing, metal patinas, embedded natural materials, and drawing with thread to provide visitors with a macro view of the horizon and micro experience of sky and earth. These collaged works form rhythmic patterns that transform, conceal, and reveal an inner investigation in the midst of random and unexpected connections to natural forces. It is, in her own words, an installation of “material experiments.”
The exhibit is free to the public and is on display now through April 14 at the Peoria Public Library Main Library Gallery on Lower Level 1.
