  • I am a junior at Augustana College, double majoring in Multimedia Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC) and Communication Studies with a minor in French. I have been the news editor of Augustana's print and online newspaper, the Observer, for close to a year. I'm excited to start my internship at WVIK, where I'll be reporting local news. After I graduate in 2016, I hope to find a job in the journalism field for a few years before possibly going to graduate school to get a masters degree.

As a student, Mendoza worked as a photographer and editor of her student newspaper, winning First Place in Multimedia Journalism from the Illinois Collegiate Press Association during her senior year.Currently, Mendoza is also working as a photographer for the Galesburg Register-Mail. She enjoys reading up on politics, watching films, binge-watching television, and tweeting about all of the above.
  • Robbie grew up in New Hampshire, but has since written stories for radio stations from Washington, D.C., to a fishing village in Alaska. Robbie graduated from the University of Maryland and got his start in public radio at the Transom Story Workshop in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Before arriving at Maine Public Radio, he worked in the Midwest, where he covered everything from beer to migrant labor for public radio station WMUK in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
